Full-time Warehouse & Packing Team Member to include Fork-Lift truck driving, Frame Making, CMC and Engraving Machine Operative

 

Based in Martley, Worcestershire, BabyRice was created in 2007 and has been growing from strength to strength ever since.  Currently employing a team of 8, this is an exciting opportunity to join our small & friendly team.

 

We are looking for another Warehouse and Packing team member.  This is a varied role, requiring a number of skills.  You will be working on different areas of the business throughout the week.  You need to be enthusiastic, keen and creative, possessing a great eye for detail, be organised with your work and be able to work quickly whilst maintaining great accuracy and efficiency in everything you do.  

 

Duties are (but are not limited to):

 

Product Creation

Picture / Box Frame making using machinery (training will be given)

Cutting mounts using a computer and CMC machine (training will be given)

Engraving name plates, frames using a computer and engraving machine (training will be given)

 

Packing Dept

Packing orders to a high standard (including gift wrapping and tying bows with ribbon) - ensuring all components are present as per the order requirements

Producing components needed for packing - filling paint pots, plaster bags and other items ready for despatch

 

General Tasks

Daily Stock checks with the Production Manager

Liaising with the Admin dept to place stock orders

Managing ‘goods in’ and ‘goods out’ throughout the day

Some heavy lifting

Fork Lift Truck driving/operation (training can be provided if necessary)

 

The above mentioned duties are by no means an exhaustive list but it gives an indication of requirements for this role.

 

You must:

  • Be a real team-player with a happy and positive attitude towards your work colleagues
  • Due to the various job roles, you must be fully adaptable and willing to learn new skills
  • Have good computer skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail - being a true ‘perfectionist’ with your work output
  • Possess a proven track record of excellent timekeeping and attendance in previous employments
  • Be physically fit due to some heavy lifting required and being stood up for the majority of the day

 

The following additional skills would be considered as beneficial for this role:

  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Fork-lift operation
  • Previous carpentry experience
  • Previous experience of production control, stock check and ordering
  • Be used to working in a small business or has been part of a small working team in the past
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace

For ages 21 and over, the starting pay for this role is £8.05 per hour (negotiable, depending upon experience).

 

Working week:  Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5pm

28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays (this position requires holidays to be taken outside of the school holidays due to limited staff cover during these periods).

This new position is available for an immediate start.

 

An aptitude test will be required for the short-listed candidates - testing practical capabilities and basic computer skills.
