We are looking for a FULL-TIME GENERAL ASSISTANT to join our friendly team, based at our unit and offices in MARTLEY, WORCESTERSHIRE, WR6 6PQ

This is an exciting and very much varied role, working on lots of different areas of the business throughout the week.  We need a keen individual with a great eye for detail, who is super-organised and efficient in everything they do, from highly accurate admin duties to making quality frames and creating beautiful jewellery items to a bit of cleaning and painting and making tea!  This position requires all manner of skills and there are plenty of opportunities to progress further within the company for the right candidate.

 

Duties are:

 

Admin Dept

Assisting the admin department, by way of processing orders and despatch labels (twice daily)

Telephone answering

Chasing purchase invoices

 

Packing Dept

Picture / Box Frame making (training will be given)

Cutting mounts on a machine (traning will be given)

Packing orders to a high standard

Stock checks with the Production Manager

Liaising with the Admin dept to place stock orders

 

Engraving Dept

Engraving of Plaques, Frames and other items (training will be given)

Engraving Jewellery items (training will be given)

Polishing and packing orders to a high standard

 

General Maintenance / Work areas

Assisting with painting, light DIY duties and simple renovation projects in and outside the unit as and when needed.

 

The above mentioned duties are by no means an exhaustive list but it gives an indication of requirements for this newly created job role.

 

You must:

  • Be a real team-player with a positive attitude towards your work colleagues

  • Due to the various job roles, you must be fully adaptable and willing to learn new skills quickly

  • Have excellent knowledge of MS Windows desktop - Word, Excel, Internet

  • Excellent typing skills, spelling and grammar

  • Have some previous experience with a ‘drawing’ package such as Paint, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator

  • Have an excellent and confident telephone manner

  • Have a keen eye for detail - being a ‘perfectionist’ with your work output

  • Possess an excellent time-keeping and attendance record from your past employments

  • You must be honest, hard working, conscientious and physically able with a 'can do' attitude when asked to perform tasks (including 'never-done-this-before' tasks!)

 

The following skills would be seen as beneficial for this role:

  • Forklift licence

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and practices in the workplace

  • Previous experience of Stock check and ordering

  • Have worked for a small business in the past

 

The starting pay for this role is £7.80 per hour, rising to £8.80 per hour once fully trained and competent within our Engraving Department. 

Working week:  Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5pm

28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
