This DVD features electric buses of various types in operation on TfL routes in London plus the Guildford park & ride services. London once had the largest trolleybus system in the world, this was closed in 1962, a new generation of electric buses is now coming into service, the developments in battery technology now make it possible for battery- electric buses to run all day after an overnight charge.3 Experimental Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC)-electric buses were tried out in 2004-6, a production batch was built for London in 2010-3, although the RV1 route that these were operating on was withdrawn by TfL in June 2019. Double deck HFC buses are on order for 2020 however, they will be used in west London. In the meantime the HFC buses displaced from the RV1 have appeared on route 444 in north east London. Chinese manufacturer BYD in conjunction with Alexander-Dennis have produced most of the battery-electric buses so far in service. The routes covered in this DVD are as follows: 43, Friern Barnet - London Bridge, 98, Willesden Garage - Holborn, 153, Finsbury Park - Moorgate, 214, Highgate Village - Moorgate, 312, South Croydon - Norwood Junction, 360, Elephant & Castle - Royal Albert Hall, 462, London Bus Museum - Weybridge, 507, Waterloo - Victoria, 521, Waterloo - London Bridge, RV1, Covent Garden - Tower Gateway, Guildford Park & Ride routes 100, 200, 300, & 400.
