Komatsuna Samurai F1

£0.75

You can steam this lightly and serve with a drizzle of lemon or a dash of soy. Its a good substitute for spinach in recipes.  For salad use simply pick from baby leaf size or treat as a cut-&-come-again.  Simply allow some to grow on and develop their dark green round (or oval) leaves, it is these larger leaves that you cook with.  Samurai is a robust and reliable choice for a long harvest season,

SOW: with protection from April in modules through to June/July. Sowings made in August and September will need to grow with protection as the weather cools down.

GROW: Transplant at the 2/3 leaf stage and space at 10cm for small plants, or up to 35cm apart if you want to grow larger plants. Komatsuna can be harvested as a cut-and-come-again (by leaving a short length of stem to resprout), or at any stage from small to large.
