To go with the girder fork parallel checkspings, these clevis sets are manufactured specially to be 'handed', i.e. each spring is fitted with a 'Right Hand' thread clevis set and a 'Left Hand' clevis set. By so doing, it is possible to adjust the tension of the springs by just untightening and re-tightening the locknuts, so alleviating the need to remove the springs from the forks. This is how the original units were made. The adjustable clevis pins and locknuts are both in stainless steel and look very pretty. The special coarse 'worms' screw into the springs (and are not very nice to make!). The difficulty in making these, and the special tooling that was required is reflected in the price. This set comprises 12 parts, which is enough for one set of forks (springs and washers can be bought seperately or as a complete set).
