New A + De Brutalist pendant and chain

Product no.: 1873

Here is a fabulous white metal pendant brutalist created by the collaborative project between two Danes, Jens Andersen and Erik Dennung ( see bio) in the 1970s, whch they called A+DeDesign.  Dennung died at the age of 82 in 2007, but his son Steen continued to run his business and shop in Copenhagen until 2016.  This pendant, with a large snowflake obsidian stone set in silver plate and held by huge bent nails, is possibly, together with the matching bangle (item 1872) and ring (item 1874) a one-off  or bespoke set.

Here is a fabulous, large modrernist pendant in the brutalist style by the Danish silversmith Peter Wilhjelm Nielsen, registered in Copenhagen 1967-73 and again in  2008.  The large agate stone lies in a silver-plate dish, held in place by dozens of silver pellets.  The pendant hangs from a heavy chain.

Jørgen Jensen pewter green lozenge pendant + chain

Here is a fabulous pendant by the Danish pewter specialist Jørgen Jensen (see bio). It features 2 domed transparent green perspex insert,s with great light reflections. Sven Haugaard hematite pendant + chain or neckring

Here is a wonderful, strictly simple pendant by the distinguished Danish silversmith Sven Haugaard, whose workshop was first registered in Kolding in 1962. The physical proximity to the Hans Hansen smithy appears to have exerted a strong influence on Haugaard's style, as here in this robust but elegant pendant which features a hematite insert.  The integral bale is large enough for a neckring or leather cord, but here it is supplied with a silky snake chain.   Alternatively, you may request a neckring.

Georg Jensen Ole Bent Petersen Cafe pendant

Here is an extraordinary pendant by the highly original Danish silversmith Ole Bent Petersen, which he designed for the Danish  silversmithy Georg Jensen in 1981 as one of his 'Sunshine and Night' series. It features a 'Thonet' cafe chair, as well as a table in front of a framed mirror with the word Cafe in red.  It is made of brass overlaid with 14 kt gold and is supplied with a new red silk ribbon, as it originally was.  If you want to know more about this eccentric artist, who famously made a pendant out his his bus ticket,  go to Ute Mirbach's article.

Georg Jensen Sterling silver 1994 Annual heritage pendant

Since 1988, the Danish silversmithy has been introducing an annual heritage series, where the motif is taken from the Jensen  designs of the early 1900s.  On this one,  issued in 1994, the design of the foliage resembles that on brooch number 75.  It is supplied with a nice paper-clip chain, similar to the Jensen version.

Georg Jensen Sterling silver 2004 annual Heritage pendant

For nearly 30 years, Georg Jensen has followed a tradition of launching an Annual Heritage Jewellery Collection. The 2004 centenary collection was base on a 1904 design by Georg Jensen, which I have seen on his brooch no.164.  This lovely Sterling silver pendant,  with an oval silver cabochon, is supplied with a nice Sterling paper-clip chain, almost identical to the original Jensen chain.  Have you seen the matching earrings, with onyx cabochon, item 0635?

Georg Jensen white rhodinated silver daisy pendant and chain

Designed in 1940 to celebrate the birth of Princess (now Queen) Margrethe, the enamel daisy was Anton Michelsen's (see profile) most successful creation of the 20th century and that success is being repeated in the 21st century since being re-issued by Georg Jensen. In this small pendant version the silver has not been gold-plated. The Marguerite daisy is the national flower of Denmark.

Alton Palmberg bronze pyrite brutalist necklace

Here is an extraordinary necklace by K.E.Palmberg, who was the head designer for Alton, the leadiing Swedish silversmithy, founded in 1946.  Most of Palmberg's work was in silver, but he also liked to experiment with materials, and here is a magnificent example in the modernist brutalist,style, using bronze and pyrite to create a little sculpture.  The pendant comes with its original integaral chain.
