The disc ALWAYS rotates off from the body during sharpening. In this direction of rotation the edge of the tool always has to be directed - not towards the body. The disk works optimally at round 1400 U / min. On a running wheel, KOCH-sharpening paste is pressed for one to two seconds. A thin layer remains adhered to the disc. The sharpening process begins by first determining the exact edition of the chamfer. If found then the chamfer is STRONGLY  pressed against the current disc. This creates frictional heat (heat) that is absolutely necessary for a perfect and quick sharpening process. Once melted by the heat the applied paste melts and shows at the cutting some kind of black oil film. That's a sure sign that the sharpening operation expires. From now on, a constant pressure of the tool is required - depending on cutting width and size - a few seconds, never more than a minute until the edge is perfectly sharp. Example: One gouge of four mm Width requires not more than 4 seconds to Super sharpness. Each hollow blade is constantly rotated axially during sharpening, so that consequently the outermost edges are detected. After every sharpening perform test cuts. The bevel and the edge are as polished
